Poster for King Wenceslas

We performed the first iteration of King Wenceslas in 2023, and it was such a hit that we decided to make it a yearly tradition. Some people do The Nutcracker, some people do A Christmas Carol, we do King Wenceslas. Every year, writer and director Rosa Palmeri has written new scenes and changed things around, but the structure remains the same:

Follow King Wenceslas and his Page, Edith, across the deep and crisp and even snow of Medieval Europe in their comedic search for meaning and goodness. This play delves deep between the stanzas of everyone’s favorite Christmas carol, delighting audiences with quick-paced physical comedy, stage magic, and puppets, all performed by four actors.

This year's production will star Shannon Ward, Doran Hamm, Matt Tibbs, and returning in the role of Edith after a year off, Saskia Bailey de Bruijn. Rosa Palmeri writes and directs the show, and it is produced and designed by Sandy Klein. Check out the article about us in the Brattleboro Reformer!

New Clothes at Monadnock International Film Festival

Dory and Wyndham at the Vermont Film Festival

In the beginning of October, New Clothes screened at its second film festival, the Monadnock International Film Festival in Keene, NH. We were so happy to get to share our film with our neighbors over in Keene, and we had a great turnout! We're still looking into touring our film around Vermont over the next year, so let us know if you'd like us to come and screen it in your town - booking@vermontsuitcasecompany.com

Thanks for your support!

Our audiences are why we do this, and we're so grateful to you for supporting us and the work we do. If you are in the giving mood this season, please consider donating to our organization so we can keep making as many of our shows donation-based as possible while still paying our artists and performers. See you soon!

Love,

the Vermont Suitcase Company
